ESG: Environmental, Social, Governance

ESG is an acronym that stands for environmental, social and governance, and corresponds to an organization's environmental, social and governance practices. The term was coined in 2004 in a Global Compact publication in partnership with the World Bank called Who Cares Wins. It arose from a provocation by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to 50 CEOs of large financial institutions, on how to integrate social, environmental and governance factors in the capital market.

At EVEREST ENERGY, ESG practices are essential to building resilient businesses and creating long-term value for our investors and other stakeholders.

As part of our ESG journey, we mapped our four priority SDGs that guide our company's strategies, guidelines and business plan. Our development agenda was and is built by integrating the concepts and practice of sustainability in our daily work.
